Kekova

Kaş is a very attractive holiday destination in Turkey.
It is situated on the beautiful south coast with its clear blue water and surrounded by splendid nature,
and has a central position to a great deal of antique monuments and historical sites.
It also offers a broad range of sport activities.

Kas is a wonderful town  and there  are a lot of things to see and do in the environment .
Don't miss the Saklikent Gorge, unforgettable!
The boat trips to the islands around Kas and Kekova were wonderful.
Swimming in the deep blue sea a delight.

The kids did swim with dolphins, they will remember it their whole life.

People here are exceptional friendly and we have made a lot of friends.

There are many beautiful excavations and the area is not yet fully developed.
This gives you a bit the feeling that you're an explorer.

In one day you can visit the ruins of ancient Myra (interesting because
of the Lycian rock tombs), the Saint Nicolas
Basilica of Demre,
                 the waterfall between
Kaş and Kalkan and the gorgeous
Saklikent Gorge .

Lovers of ancient antiquities shoudalso visit the ruins of tlos or Arykanda

The non-stop WOW-effect by seeing such
an enormous amount of beautiful nature,
of which we never could see enough

To the west of Kaş are still remnants of the ancient Lycian cities of Xanthos,
Letoon and Patara (birthplace of St. Nicholas, and beautiful beaches in a
                  protected nature area).
Furthermore a trip back to Xanthos , in the neighbourhood of Kalkan,
                  is very worthwhile.
When you like nature then the hinterland of Kaş (villages Gombe / Kasaba)                  is  very nice.

In view of  the high temperatures we spent most of the time on sea.

Between nine and ten o'clock there is a wide choice in the harbour  (don't forget  your snorkel !),  the boats run in all directions!

A trip by boat along the magnificent and unspoiled coast is a
                tremendous experience.

There are (glass) boat tours to the sunken Byzantine city of Kekova.
The Greek Island of Kastelorizon (Meis) lies opposite
Kaş.
You can visit this colorful island by ferryboat.

Watersports

Our oldest son followed two diving courses at  "Kas Diving".
Very professional approach and friendly guidance. He has enjoyed the many dive sites around Kas.
And what a clear seawater!

The very rocky coast of Kaş made it a popular destination for diving .
There are a number of excellent dive and snorkel spots.
It offers ample opportunity fore cave - and wreck diving.
There are at least 20 diving schools!
Also sea kayaking and canyoning can be practiced.
Kaş is a favorite starting point for the Blue Cruise holidays
and sailors see it as a popular destination.

                                                        Paragliding, mountaineering and hiking:

Kaş is a great place for paragliding from the Taurus Mountains (the 2nd best place in Turkey).
Abseiling is practiced in the Saklikent Gorge and mountain biking is a popular sport.

For hikers, it is also a great area.   The first Turkish long distance footpath, the more than
two thousands years old Lycian Pathway , runs along Kaş.
