Water, coffee, tea:
Because the water pipes runs
over long distances and not very deep below the surface, the quality
of the water
is not always perfect. Therefore we recommend to drink bottled
water.
Of course you can boil the water and use it
for example for tea
or coffee.
Pork and alcohol:
Turkey has a Muslim culture and this has its effects on the
menu. Pork will be sold scarcely, so, if you buy bacon, salami etc.
the prices will be outrageous and still are not conform your taste.
Possible solutions are: to relinquish during your stay from several
pork products,
the Turkish kitchen offers a lot of variation,
and is very tasteful,
to bring it yourselves or to go for a trip to the Greek island of
Meyisti (Greek name: Kastellorizon), to
buy it over there.
The same goes for alcohol.

When you rent

Tips for car rent
There will be some
items you have to keep in mind when you rent a car:
-
First of all: control the yellow pages they will give you,
to control if you car is insured. this is an insurance certificate
- In
Turkey it is custom to deliver the rented car with an empty petrol tank.
Therefore you
have to turn it in with an empty tank. So ask when you arrive where the
nearest petrol tank is.
-
You pay to the person who helps you
at the pump, not in the shop. Here you can buy f.e. water (important
en route)
- There
is often no road map in your car and most of them are not very
accurate. So take a map with you, ours are better.
